What is parenchyma?

Parenchyma is a unspecialised simple tissue. Cells are living with active protoplasm. It present in the soft part of the plants and storage in the main function. The cells shape may be oval, spherical, or polygonal. Cell walls are thin made up of cellulose. Inter cellular space may or may not be presented in parenchyma. The main functions of parenchyma is storage of food materials, It helps in the regeneration and wound healing.
