This form of energy gets its name from the method of it's production. The nucleus of atoms of specific material's undergo fission gives out tremendous amount of energy. Even fusion of nucleus produces tremendous of energy. This energy is converted to electrical energy and hence the name is "Nuclear Energy". The Energy released in this process is so high that devasting bombs are also made on the same principle. We are all aware of the devasting affects of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thus we see that the same energy can be used by mankind to help itself. The choice lies in the Judicious decision of mankind.
