Fertilizers are used to enchase the fertility of the soil. They contain various nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium etc. when added to the soil, they increase the quantity of these nutrients in the soil and thus the availability of the same to the plants for better growth. Pesticides are sprayed on plants to prevent pests from attacking them. Most of the pesticides are non-biodegradable in nature. They remains in the soil for a long time and also enter the crops. When the products of such crops are consumed by human beings, the pesticides enter the human system.
