What is Igneous Rocks?

The Word Igneous Rocks is derived fro Latin word 'Ignis' means fire. It is also known as primary or parent rocks. Igneous rocks are formed due to the process of solidification of molten magma that originate fro the interior layer of the earth at the time of volcanic eruption. Igneous rocks are divide in two on the basis of mode of origin. They are Intrusive Igneous Rocks and Extrusive igneous rocks.On the basis chemical composition. Igneous rocks are again divide into Acidic and Basic Igneous rocks.
